352nd "Straw Boss" Col. James Mayden

ImageThis is the "Straw Boss" flown by Col. James Mayden, the 1st Commander of the 352nd Fighter Group. Here's a bit of history on Col. Mayden: The Group flew its first combat mission on September 9, 1943, an uneventful sweep out over the North Sea to escort returning B-17s. Some 40 pilots participated in this mission. Although the 352nd had several minor encounters with the enemy in their early missions, it wasn't until November 26th that Major J. C. Meyer, C.O. of the 487th Squadron scored their first victory-an Me-109 attacking the bombers near Gronigen-the first of many victories for the 352nd.[/img]

Just the cheesy little Cannon Digital Elph S400 -- 4 megapixels.

Wow, I remember looking at that on the trip but some of these are incredible. Last Q, mind if I add a '(C) 2004 Ken McCoy' to the pics? Do you want to do that?

I don't mind. The © is option-g on my Mac.Concerning the camera -- I've learned to adjust exposure and white balance on the camera, which makes it perform much better than the default settings. Amazing what a little tweaking will do.
